Build a complete scope

Four decisions to settle before files move.

  1. 1

    Audience

Start with a supplied list, a defined geography, or an EDDM route plan. The choice affects addressing and postal preparation.

  2. 2

    Mailpiece

Choose the finished format around the message, quantity, mailing method, and postal requirements rather than artwork dimensions alone.

  3. 3

    Artwork and data

Keep the address area, indicia, folds, tabs, and variable fields in the production plan before final files are released.

  4. 4

    Production scope

Confirm printing, finishing, addressing, postal preparation, postage, delivery to the postal facility, and any remaining handoffs.

Direct-mail questions

Resolve the mailing details early.

Can I see a print price before my mailing details are final?

Yes. GoCMYK’s online calculator can estimate supported postcard, brochure, and self-mailer print configurations. Mailing selections shown in the calculator are estimates; list processing, postage, postal eligibility, and the final production schedule are confirmed with the job.

Do I need an address list for every direct-mail campaign?

No. A conventional addressed mailing uses recipient data, while USPS Every Door Direct Mail uses selected postal routes and does not require a list of individual names and addresses. GoCMYK reviews EDDM as an assisted-quote job because size, route count, preparation, and postage scope still matter.

Which mailpiece format should I choose?

Postcards keep the message visible and the construction simple. Folded self-mailers create more content space without an outer envelope. Brochures, reply envelopes, and other components can support more involved appeals. The audience, message, response method, and postal design determine the useful format.

When should postal review happen?

Before final artwork. Size, folds, address placement, clear zones, tabs or sealing, and other construction details can affect mailability. GoCMYK confirms job-specific requirements rather than treating a generic template as postal approval.
